As a recent result of changes allowed by the WKA, The Pa Elite Series is proud to announce some changes to the age requirements for our class structure. In very basic terms, all classes except Pee Wee class is allowing 1 year younger driver.
The previous WKA rule stated that the drivers age on Dec 20th of the previous year(mainly because of the race in Daytona on Dec 28th-30th) was the determining min age requirement, and you had till June 30th of the next year to claim your class.
We are simplifying this and as stated in our rule book:Driver’s Age
as of January 1, 2013 shall determine the driver’s age for the 2013 series events.
In the case of Jr moving to Sr class (14 year old children) All drivers wanting to compete in the adult class must submit this request to the Elite Series in advance of the Event. The Series will review this request and may request proof of credibility on the track experience be provided( ie video, results, references etc.) The Elite Series is required to have 5 signatures from it Board member in a letter stating they approve this move and sent to the WKA for filing. The parents will still be required to fill out raceday minor releases for insurance obligations. Once this driver is moved up to the adult class, the Series still reserves the right, for safety reasons, to move that individual back down to the lower class, if they deem ability not that meeting of said class.
This is not taken even remotely lightly in regards to safety, and not argumentative. The decision of the Board is final. This rule of review actually applies to all participants entering said class at the youngest age requirements. This rule is enforced with the ability of the said participant having the option of the lower class structure. Pee Wee class is not effected by any rule changes in regards to age. The Elite series is not changing the ages or class structure of that class at this time.

It is very important to contact Amber in registration if you need to change entries already sent in. This new change won't effect many individuals, but the younger Purple platers wanting to get into full karts and especially cage karts at age 7 now can. Same as the amazing 14 year old drivers ready for adult class. The Jr to Sr move will take some time so don't wait till last minute and blame the Board for the delay.
